Deirdre Casey


Deirdre joined Kerry Speech and Language Clinic in May 2021. She obtained her Postgraduate First-Class Honours Degree in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Limerick. Deirdre has experience working with both children and adults across community care clinics, hospitals, residential care, and schools. Deirdre has experience in assessment, differential diagnosis and implementing individualised therapy programmes for children and adolescents presenting with a range of communication difficulties.

Deirdre’s most recent role was working with adults presenting with acquired and/or progressive communication and/or swallowing difficulties. She is trained in the evaluation and treatment of feeding, eating, drinking, and swallowing (FEDS) disorders. Deirdre is a highly motivated and passionate Speech and Language Therapist. Dedicated to providing person-centred care which is grounded in the principles of evidence-based practice. She is committed to supporting people with communication and swallowing disorders. Deirdre is proactive in continuing professional development and maintaining knowledge and skills.

Our Team & Partners

Our experienced and highly skilled therapists are registered with CORU and IASLT. CORU is Ireland’s multi-professional health regulator and IASLT is The Irish Association of Speech & Language Therapists. Our therapists are also committed to continuing professional development (CPD) and attend ongoing training courses and seminars to stay up to date on new treatments and therapy developments.

In addition, our therapists hold individual and peer supervision groups and research journal clubs.
